Server migration and upgrade issue - SSIS packages:

We are upgrading our servers from SQL Server 2008 R2 to SQL Server 2012 R2. We have re-created one of our SSIS packages in Visual Studio 2010, which was previously in VS 2008. This SSIS package connects to a SharePoint site in order to bring in data from a list. We are not using Visual Studio 2015 since when we connect using an ODATA connection, we are missing columns from SharePoint and also the formatting is not coming in as expected.

When this package is run through Visual Studio 2010, it executes successfully. However when run through SQL Server agent using a service account, we receive the following error message: "Error occurred while receiving HTTP response to "SharePoint link", HTTP request context aborted by the server".  After a lot of investigation, we were able to come up with one work around. We had to enable the FIPS compliant algorithm setting on the server. After enabling this setting, the package ran successfully through SQL Server agent. We are hoping to find a solution that does not involve changing this setting on the server though. Could anyone please provide suggestions/options that we could try in order to resolve this issue?
