How to migrate SSIS packages with package configuration intact

Hi All,

I am working on a upgrade project . Doing side by side upgrade from Windows 2008 SQL Server 2008R2 to Windows 2016 SQL Server 2016 .

In my old environment i had saved package configuration to XML files, so that i dont want to make many changes except for the new SQL instance name in the configuration file.

I exported all the packages which were stored in msdb of my old server and imported to the new sql server.

Packages are failing in new environment because the package configuration did not come with the SSIS packages that i exported.

All the saved config files were manually moved as per the old directory structure.

By adding the config file to new package, it is running fine.

The issue is the mapping between the SSIS package and its respective config file.

How can i make sure the package configuration also gets exported with the SSIS package, because i have close to 300 packages and i cannot manually add config files to the respective package by referring to the old environment.

Thanks in advance.
