Visual Studio 2015 with standalone 2012 integrated services install

I support a 2008R2 server and have the SQL2008r2 and VS2008 which I use to create BIDS packages to run on a 2008R2 server. I also have VS2015 that I use to create C# and VB Programs and GUI apps. Now I have been asked to help another programmer with creating packages for a SQL2012 server. He has VS2010 and SQL2012 on his machine. I tried installing just the Integrated services part from SQL2012. It installed a few things but I don't see anything that will allow me to open 2010 SSIS packages. What do I have to do to be able to open and edit 2010 packages? Hopefully without a full install of VS2010 and SQL2012. Or should I say is it even possible.
