How to make sure that only one copy of a package is running at any one time?

Hi there. I have a pretty basic problem, I believe. I have a package that people can run using a bat file. Now, I'd like to make sure that when the package is running there is no way to run another copy of it by any means. Is there a simple, or any, way to achieve it?
