Execute T-SQL Statement Task Connection issue

I'm opening a DTS Package in the Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 (team edition for software developers, if that helps) to edit it.

I'm trying to add 'Execute T-SQL Statement' maintenance plan task and connecting it to an existing Data Flow Task (it comes after the Data Flow Task)

I already know my T-SQL code. Now, when I go to put it in, the Connection drop down is disabled but there is a 'New' button.

I would think linking from Data Flow Task would cause the T-SQL statement task to inherit it's connection manager.

At the very least, it should allow me to select the existing connection manager. But it's disabled (???)

Do I really need to setup a new destination connection ole db data source just to execute the t-sql?

Wouldn't this cause an additional connection manager to be updated when running the DTS package?

All assistance appreciated.

(i am pretty new with DTS in case you can't tell)
