How to update the connections listed in the connection manager area after adding a connection manager programmatically

I have added an ADO.NET:SQL Connection in a package through my custom component. It doesn't give any error but in the connection manager I cannot see the connection. Once I close the package and reopen it, I am able to view it. Is there any way to refresh or update this connection manager area?
