date data extration problem in SSIS

hi All,

i have source data

col1

2012-07-02 06:49:30.000

and i want in target  both col1 and 'date' as  col2  like below

col1                                       col2

2012-07-02 06:49:30.000    2012-07-02

when i am doing it through SSIS EXECUTE SQL Task.

i have source is in sting data type .I am able to populate col1 data.But to populate col2 data.

i have used derived column But in Expression of derived column i wrote "SUBSTRING( col1, 1, 10 )" and in DATA TYPE  "DT_DATE"

but its giving error.

what is the solution.
