I am very new to SSIS 2012 and CDC. I have the following scenario.
I have a source database that is SQL Server 2012. I have a staging database (again SQL Server 2012 and a replica of the source database without any constraints whatsoever) and a SQL Server 2012 data warehouse. I want to use CDC to do an initial as well as incremental load. My aim is to transfer the data from the source db to the data warehouse via staging. This is an ETL candidate I understand. Where does CDC fit in in this scenario since I want to load the data to the staging first from the source. How do I design my solution? How should I bring the data from the source to the staging db? Should I use CDC to do this trnasfer? How should I then transfer the data from staging to datawarehouse? Is it via ETL?
