Error when executing package on my local machine

I am receiving the following error when trying to execute an SSIS package (or any step within the package) using VS 2012 on my local machine (64 bit):

Error 39 Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Runtime.DtsRuntimeException: The package failed to load due to error 0xC0011008 "Error loading from XML. No further detailed error information can be specified for this problem because no Events object was passed where detailed error information can be stored.". i have multiple version of SQL Server installed (2005, 2008, 2012) and visual studio (2008,2010, 2012), so not sure if there is a version conflict.  The package works on other user pc's who have a smiliar setup that I have. 

Is there a place that I can look to get some more detailed info on this error or some configuration that I can check to make sure i have it setup correctly?
