Hello,

I'm getting "unexpected termination" error in my SSIS packages more often.

This was happenning once for a time before, but now it's almost every day.

I'm not running any parallel packages.

SQL Server 2012 and SSIS 2012 are installed on same x64 bit IBM X5 Blade server.

I'm running out of ideas what may have caused it.

Here is a dump file:

The component returned a failure code when the pipeline engine called PrimeOutput().

Hi All,

I am using the OLEDB source in my package and Provider is "OLEDB Provider for Sql server". When ever i try to execute the package, Its returning the below error message.

"The component returned a failure code when the pipeline engine called PrimeOutput(). The meaning of the failure code is defined by the component, but the error is fatal and the pipeline stopped executing.  There may be error messages posted before this with more information about the failure."

I have tried by changing the provider to "Sql Server 10.0" but the issue still exists. If i run the same package multiple times, some times it gets executed.

Please suggest.

Does SSIS use OpenQuery?

If I run a select statement using the SSIS data transfer widgets does it convert those to an openQuery?

Am I better off just writing my own SQL instead of using the data transfer widgets?

Hi, We are using FTP task in ssis. Does it support to connect SFTP server. If not, what are the options available to connect SFTP in SSIS without using 3rd party tools. Thank you.

SSIS Custom Component - Update output columns automatically based on selected input columns

$

Hi,

I have the following code that creates output columns dynamically based on the input columns in a custom SSIS component:

// Create corresponding output columns dynamically
            IDTSOutput100 output = ComponentMetaData.OutputCollection[0];

            foreach (IDTSInputColumn100 inputcolumn in input.InputColumnCollection)
            {
                bool IsExist = false;
                foreach (IDTSOutputColumn100 OutputColumn in output.OutputColumnCollection)
                {
                    if (OutputColumn.Name == inputcolumn.Name)
                    {
                        IsExist = true;
                    }
                }

                if (!IsExist)
                {
                    IDTSOutputColumn100 outputcol = output.OutputColumnCollection.New();
                    outputcol.Name = inputcolumn.Name;
                    outputcol.Description = inputcolumn.Name;
                    outputcol.SetDataTypeProperties(inputcolumn.DataType, inputcolumn.Length, inputcolumn.Precision, inputcolumn.Scale, inputcolumn.CodePage);
                }
            }

This code works perfectly, but I want to update it so that if I unselect a column in the advanced editor of the component (in the input columns tab), then the corresponding output column is deleted too.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Thanks

2K8R2: ssis packages take much longer (x100) to run when executed on a new server for the first time.

$

We have noticed that whenever we deploy a package to a new server, one where the package has never existed before, the execution times are MUCH MUCH longer.

A set of simple bulk loads (truncate + full load) take 30+min to run the first time and then take 2-3min the 2nd run onwards

And the execution times of the individual containers are lower than the time of the parent.

ie

The initialise step does a simple single row select from a tiny table and changes the last run date

Note how the individual times don't add up to the container time

Same with the main sequence container. A truncate call against a single table that no other process is touching that takes 42 sec?

The actual data flow only took 4 sec but the data flow container ran for 30sec?

Note that there's no locking and all subsequent runs of these packages take the expected amount of time.

the total run time of the above package was 5:51min, over a minute longer than the sum of the steps.

Has anybody seen this before? Where would I start looking to diagnose this?

SSIS package "MISData SFTP.dtsx" finished: Failure.

My scd file contents is

cd /

Then the batch file looks like this:

psftp.exe -batch -b E:\psftp\psftp.scp -pw password domain\user@ssh.example.co.za

The batch file on it's own is working fine, but as soon as I put in in SSIS it fails.

I even setup EncyptSensitivewithPassword setting on SSIS to try to resolve this eror, this does not even work

Failing Second Iteration in For Loop

Hi Friends,

I have a task to move rows from a table in Cache database into SQL Server. This is my first time working on Cache database. There are more than a million rows in this table. I am using ssis to perform this task. If I do a simple select to move data.. the table is not responsive so I have to move the data in batches. I am using a date filed in this table to select 7 days batches into the SQL server. I am using for loop to evaluate an expression so that date field will not exceed present date and break the infinite loop. First iteration works like a charm. But in second iteration ADO .NET Source fails with a Generic error. I am not able to figure this behavior of for loop. Any help is really appreciated!! Below are the screen shots of the failed package with error at the end.

Thanks,

Gopu

SSIS Script task FTP download...

$

Hi,

I have a script task that connect to an FTP site and downloads all files on the site.  At present it checks to see if the file physically exists on the server and if so it does nothing ..

 If File.Exists(ImportedLocation & currentFile) Then
                    '' ALready Exists

                Else

                    theWebClient.Credentials = theCredential

                    theWebClient.DownloadFile("ftp://ftp.doubleclick.net/14069" & "/" & currentFile, ToImportLocation & currentFile)

                End If

I need to change this so that rather than check if the file exists on the server, it checks an Variable (of Type Object) which has a list of file names within it.  This is because I don't have the space to keep the files after download, but I log into a table that its been downloaded.

How can I check if the currentFile is within the object variable?

Thanks!
Chris

Hello Friends,

I think this is the toughest question am asking... I have 3 different flat files... none of the flat file have column names.. The data in each flat file looks likes this

0101 123 abcd n3xs------> File:1

0201 368 ghsd f3ert hello-----> File: 2

876 fox ---->File:3

Using C# in script task how can i assign column names and also break this files with record lengths and positions....After i do this i need to load the data in my sql server staging tables...

I am not familiar with C# code.. Please help me and give me code snippet so that it works for me...

Let me know if i need to provide some more information

Simple load ending without finishing tasks

$

Hi I'm trying to do some very simple SSIS, just take data from an SQL Server db (OLE DB Source), do a data conversion on some rows and then load it into an Oracle Destination (Attunity).

It runs without errors but no data is loaded, the tasks stay yellow and it always stops at the same number of rows (which is less than the total rows in the table). It's a simple query from a single table and its being loaded into a single table. If I take less columns in the query then it crashes with more rows read (although no rows are actually loaded into the destination). I've used a data viewer and it seems to be reading the data fine.

I thought it may be running out of memory or something to that effect but I don't know how to check or fix this problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do i need Multiple Excel Connection Managers for multiple files?

$

Good Morning Everyone,

I have to load 12 months of data from excel files. My question is do i need to create 12 connection managers as part of the names are sames except for the month part. For example the files that i have are :

Aug-2012 Trend Data (09-14-2012).xlsx

Sep-2012 Trend Data (09-14-2012).xlsx

Oct-2012 Trend Data (09-14-2012).xlsx

What i'm looking for is there a way where SSIS looks for the key word (TREND DATA) and loads all that files? Also my other question is with the files that i get everyday (same name but different timestamp)... Is there something in SSIS that i can use where it looks for a file on a particular server or drive and loads the data by looking at the timestamp , also once the data is loaded  i want to archive the file into the ARCHIVE folder is that possible. Please need some documentation or pointers.

Thanks

I have SQL server 2005 SP4(on win 2k3 R2 32 bit)  from which i am transferring 9 Million recors to Oracle 11g(64 bit) .I have used both oledb provider for Oracle and ODBC driver for oracle to transfer data but all in vain.After transferring some 1 Lacs records its failing.

Please help

Error when using OLEDB provider

Error: 0xC0047011 at Data Flow Task, DTS.Pipeline: The system reports 98 percent memory load. There are 4294070272 bytes of physical memory with 60186624 bytes free. There are 2147352576 bytes of virtual memory with 180776960 bytes free. The paging file has 5727150080 bytes with 1734053888 bytes free.

Information: 0x4004800C at Data Flow Task: The buffer manager detected that the system was low on virtual memory, but was unable to swap out any buffers. 16 buffers were considered and 16 were locked. Either not enough memory is available to the pipeline because not enough is installed, other processes are using it, or too many buffers are locked.

error when using ODBC provider
