I want to use collection of sharepoint list fields as a source in my data flow.

You can output fields collection through OData like:

https://portal/sites/web/_api/Web/Lists(guid'70592db3-8842-4b84-a5ba-b12a0fb5245a')/fields

I can perfectly see it in IE or import in Excel as a table. But OData source in SSIS can not id this as a collection. Why? How to fix it?

More i found out that items query also is not working with OData source in SSIS:

https://portal/sites/web/_api/Web/Lists(guid'70592db3-8842-4b84-a5ba-b12a0fb5245a')/items?$select=Id,Title

Only _vti_bin/listdata.svc/list without keys (like ?$select=field) can be used as source...

Hello. Yesterday I promoted an SSIS project to production via the project deployment method. Destination ssisdb. SQL Agent jobs that run these packages contain the updated connection info for the project connection managers within. New package runs like a champ. But zero new data lands in production. After a couple hours trying to figure what's going on I see that all the project connection managers are changed in the job! They're changed back to their development defaults. That never happens! I didn't do this.

Has anyone seen this before; it's never worked that way for me. Maybe after redeployment the package info in ssissb is reset. But the SQL Agent job info is nicely abstracted away from this, or so I thought.

Can anyone explain how can I handle a simple text file? I am trying to load it on SQL and it giving me a lot of error..code 65000, code 1252, D_TEXT, D_STRING...and bla bla bla. Why it's so hard?

Now my problem is cannot convert from unicode to not unicode. And plus:

in the report I got

[Flat File Source [2]] Error: Data conversion failed. The data conversion for column "Column 0" returned status value 4 and status text "Text was truncated or one or more characters had no match in the target code page.".

but when i run the package it does appear Cannot convert between unicode and not unicode string data types. 

Really you do need a degree only for load a text file. I love Microsoft, I love SQL, I love SSIS but please I hope they do something about the uniformity of the data. It's a text so it should be fine to load in a varchar or nvarchar column...annoying...

I have a package with the below tasks.

Source : MYSQL5.6 - Table - 50000000

Source Connection : ODBC Driver

Destination : SQLServer -Table

Destination Provider : OLEDB Driver.

I am trying to read 5000000 rows at a time. But It's throwing the below buffer error. 

I am new to MYSQL and do not have the visibility on buffer settings of it.

Is it fair to assume that if we change buffer size on ODBC will solve the problem.

How can I solve the problem ? any inputs appreciated.

I just got a new laptop from my work and I installed SSMS 2014 Complete using the SQL Server 2014 Standard disc. I have no issues connecting to my SQL Server 2008 databases. However, when I try to connect to the Integration Services on those SQL Server 2008 machines I get the error show in the screen shot. Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

We are using sql server data tool for visual studio 2012 and I need to create an ssis package to export excel data into sql server table. the package runs as sql job every day. package needs to insert only new rows into table and if any row is changed, update that row data.

I googled many articles and found the following as good one.

When I tried this, first time populating table worked fine because it treated all rows as new rows because data was not there in table. I added some more data to the file and ran package again. The package ran successfully but new data (2 rows) are not added to the table. I updated couple of rows data and ran the package. It is updating the same data all rows.

Please let me know how to do this.

I have an SSIS package that I am using a multiple flat file connection to load files together to create a new flat file.  I am looking for a way to delete the individual files and only keep the newly created file.  What is the best way to accomplish this?

Here it is:

I have step in my ETL process that gets facts from another database. Here is how I set it up:

1) I have to package variables called User::startDate and User::endDate of data type datetime

2) Two separate Execute SQL Tasks populate those variables with appropriate dates (this works fine)

3) Then I have a Data Flow Task with OLE DB source that uses a call to a sproc of the form "exec ETL_GetMyData @startDate =?, @endDate =?" with parameters mapped accordingly (0 -> User::startDate, 1 -> User::endDate)

When I run this I get an error 0xC0207014: "The SQL command requires a parameter named "@startDate", which is not found in the parameter mapping."

It is true that the sproc in fact requires @startDate and @endDate parameters, so next thing I tried to do is call the sproc the following way: "exec ETL_GetMyData @startDate =?, @endDate =?"

To no avail. It gives me the same error. Incidentally, when I hard code both dates like "exec ETL_GetMyData '2006-04-01','2006-04-02'" everything works well.

Also, I want to mention that in the first two cases, I get an error right in the editor. When I try to parse the statement it gives me "Invalid parameter number" message.

This has been such a pain in my neck. I've waisted the whole day trying to monkey with the various parts of package/statements to get this to work and it still doesn't. I dont' want to say anything about Integration Services design right now, but you probably know what I'm thinking...

Iam using Cozyroc Dynamic CRM destination plug in to "Update" against a Microsoft CRM entity.

I get the following error while running the SSIS package -

There is no way to find out what the specific error is , as it doesn't mention the "failure column" details.

Can someone provide any information in this regard?

One of my SSIS packages connect to Oracle database using connection from Microsoft OLE DB Provider for Oracle. This was working fine until a recent Microsoft patching (with the following KB articles:kb3135445, kb3121255, kb3134214, kb3126587, kb3126593, kb3133043, kb3122648, kb3127220)

Could this be because of any of the above patches? Or is there another reason for this?

Now this connection does not work and the error seen is:

I am utilizing BIDS on a SQL Server 2008 R2 build; sending data from Excel to Oracle 10g. On my local machine this works without issue as I had saved the password for the connection to Oracle as the package was set to Encrypt Sensitive with User Key.

Once this was working, I moved ahead by creating a configuration file;  change the Protection Level to Don't Save Sensitive; and ensure the package and elements within it are running in 32-bit mode.  The goal is that I will be able to add the password to the xml configuration file (not ideal--I get it).  However when I do this, save the package, and then run within VS I get the error in the subject line?

I have been all over the internet reading a multitude of similar problems with successful answers.  The answers I found did not work for me.  What am I missing?  I fear it is right in front of me and I can't see it.  I thought maybe I needed a TNSNames.ora file but I have one.  I edited the XML and added the password, to no avail. 

I look forward to any help and guidance the members here can provide.

I have a problem that I cannot seem to solve; even after researching the I-net.

I have Visual Studio 2008 loaded; SQL 2008R2 and SQL 2008 (may be express); as well as BIDS.  These are a new install last week on a new(er) machine (clean).  I was able to create an SSIS package using the standard create SSIS package template.  That was last Wednesday. 

Since that Time I installed some programs. And now, my SSIS templates (within VS2008) are gone!  My question is where did they go?  How do I get them back? Is it possible that Crystal Reports (2008/2011 - both installed) could have removed my templates.  While unlikely I have to ask as the templates were in place prior to the installation of Crystal Reports and another developer I work with is not experiencing this issue (he does not have Crystal loaded).

You should know that I tried to run DEVENV /INSTALVSTEMPLATES (this did not work--unfortunately).

I am working on old SSIS packages which have a particular string hard coded  example P32111  in the  various tasks.

They are deployed in MSDB ( Using SQL 2008)

As part of a transition I need  to replace that string with a new one ( P32111 with P1221) 

I know there are many tools to search SQL easily like Apex SQL ,RED Gate in a database etc but any way to

search/replace the query of the deployed SSIS packages  (MSDB) without manual intervention.

Issue Facing while rounding of numeric(20,2) to numeric(20,0). 

SSIS package is not rounding to the nearest whole number, instead it is truncating the data after decimal points because the destination column is NUMERIC [20,0]. 

Issue:- We have numeric(20,2) in input file and numeric(20,0) in destination column. 

While loading data from file to table this data is getting truncated instead of rounding.

For e.g. input data is 2546.56 then SSIS is truncating to 2546 instead of making it to 2547.

Introduction

Integration Services gives you the ability to import and export packages, and by doing this change the storage format and location of packages. But after import packages into package store, how can we get the package XML definition?

Solution

As we know, SSIS packages are stored in msdb using existing SSIS storage table([msdb].[dbo].[sysssispackages]). The “packagedata” column store the actual SSIS package with Image data type. In order to get the package XML definition, we need to convert “packagedata” column through Varbinary to XML. You can refer to the following steps:

1. Using the following query to get package GUID:
   SELECT [name],
               [id]
     FROM [msdb].[dbo].[sysssispackages]
2. Using the following query to convert packagedata column to XML: SELECT id, CAST(CAST(packagedata AS VARBINARY(MAX)) AS XML) PackageDataXML
   FROM      [msdb].[dbo].[sysssispackages]
   WHERE id= 'ABB264CC-A082-40D6-AEC4-DBF17FA057B2'
