giving up a connection that is retained

Hi we run ssis 2012 enterprise. I'd like to retain a specific connection so I can leverage a temp table between ssis components but also give it up explicitly (disconnect) at a certain point in my pkg.  We prefer not to have multiple connectors for the same db in our pkgs. But it is likely later in pkg execution that I'd be spinning up a new connection to the same db.
