We are working on something where a bunch of very similar jobs will have a lot of variables, a very elaborate scheme to fetch some sensitive data, and we need to have a cookie cutter starting place. What is the best practice for having a template starting place with ssis? It seems easy enough to just rename the Package.dtsx file at a high level then open it with VS 2015 Ent/SSDT. Could someone go over the rules of renaming a .dtsx file? It seems like if you just rename the Package.dtsx file and open it that works ok, but if you rename inside of an SSIS created project with its full directory and solution file, ssis seems to get confused.
